Sorry, I know I’m not one for fanboy-ish glee or over the top sentimental feelings for TV shows, but I’ve been a fan of Chuck for a long time. I was on my seat when it was almost cancelled and I was more than relieved when it came back. I’m sure countless other Chuck viewers will echo my sentiments, because…well, because Chuck fans are like that. Loyal to a fault, almost.

Anyway, I would suggest for you to go watch it on HULU, but unless you’ve seen the other episodes…go out and buy the box sets and wait. Trust me, it’s worth it. To appreciate this episode, you need to start at the beginning.

I need some sunglasses, recommendations?

I’m looking at some Ray-Ban Wayfarers, but I think these might have to do on a small budget. Wayfarer

Looks interesting.

Nolan calls 3D an interesting development. I despise 3D. I despise Warner Bros. making all of their tentpole movies 3D. I don’t see the point of 3D. I’m not a film-tech geek, I can’t talk to you too much about 35mm and 70mm film. I’m not going to be the one to say that the soul of an image is in type of mechanism used (film over digital). Hell, most of the movies I see are in digital format. I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie on film, it’s been a long time.

At any rate, I digress. From my perspective, 3D is about money, not progress. Avatar made a staggering amount of money. Executives like money, so on and so forth. Avatar was a technological showpiece. In terms of plot and character development, it was nothing short of a shitstorm (or if you’re Doug Benson, the movie should be Avatard).

Up in the Air

So, I started writing a “review” of Up in the Air and I immediately erased it. I remember my 12th grade English teacher said that we couldn’t call any of the things we’ve read a, “literary masterpiece,” simply because we’re not experts. We, the students, have not studied enough to have any real definitive say on literature. Sure, we can interpret and give opinions, but to critique…I don’t think we’re qualified (at least, I don’t think I am). I feel the same way about movies. While I’ll pick apart the movies and focus on what I think is that director’s style or message, I really don’t know. I can’t say his/her movie is the best of any genre, I can’t say it beats “X” film. I simply am not qualified.

So, I’ll tell you this. I enjoyed Up in the Air. I think it’s one of the smoothest movies I’ve seen. It’s a beautiful balancing act between a character piece and a comedy. At the end of the day, I’ll just say I think it’s a movie that’s extremely watchable.

I love, love, love, love all my politician friends. Hell, I didn’t know I had so many. It turns out, all of my friends are majoring in political science and are doing their best to share their knowledge on the health care bill. Ah, god bless them, holding to their values and morals as if they’re on a sinking ship, you’ve got to love them.

So. It’s been a while. Should I put on some mood music? Huh? How about a little white wine? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Watch Breaking Bad. Just do it. It’s about meth, cancer, and family: everything you need in a tv show.
SECOND!
I don’t have much to update you on. Truth be told, if you want to see what I find interesting, I’ve got links to my daily sites all in the sidebar. Click over there, you won’t be disappointed, they’re all quality sites. Now, I will be giving a review of Up in the Air tomorrow probably. I don’t normally like to give reviews, because, well I’m not qualified to give them. I’m no expert in any field, so…it’ll probably be that I’ll give you my thoughts on it.

Spike Jonze’s short, I’m Here, is online.I’m Here The site only gives out 700 viewings a day, so don’t forget to check back the next day if you don’t get a “ticket.” I still haven’t seen it yet, so I can’t tell you too much about it.

Esquire has a ton of new music recommendations on its site. Esquire. They list a ton of bands from SXSW and, “songs that every man should be listening to.”

Give me tattoo recommendations.

I finally, finally caught up on Dexter. I started watching season 4 months ago, but I just now remembered to finish it. I remember seeing posts on Facebook about how bad the ending is. I won’t post any spoilers, but the writers on Dexter are absolutely brilliant. So, I guess…this is a recommendation, go watch Dexter. Start at the beginning.

So, the God of War III demo dropped last night on PSN. It’s beautiful and awesome. But I’m more excited about the Just Cause 2 demo coming next week
