Spike Jonze gets a prank pulled on him by his WTWTA crew. No embed, but click the link to see. Spike Jonze

I still haven’t seen the movie due to location constraints. When I was at State, going to the movies either required a ride or a taxi. The latter being beyond expensive. Back home, I don’t believe our theater actually put up the movie. At any rate, I’m looking forward to seeing it.
SECOND!
Monsters in Real Places Basically, the link says it all. It’s a blog of monsters in real-life photos. It’s pretty cool.

THIRD!
Guess what I bought: I’m not an audiophile by any means, but after listening to music through my Sony MDR-7506s, I realized that I really couldn’t go back to how I previously absorbed media. Enter Astro’s A40s. Great sound and a great mic, is pretty much a win-win. Although the price is pretty steep, it’s an investment.

Also, Chocolate Gaming? I’ve been thinking about an idea and the situation is nowhere close to infancy, but I’ve always been interested in LAN parties and video game competitions. IF I ever stumble upon such an event or get into some sort of competition, I think I’ll try and get Chocolate//Robot into the gaming scene, somehow. I know that all of the members of C//R grew up gaming and it has definitely been of one of our favorite hobbies, so I see it as an evolution of a pastime.

New stuff

Long time, no see. I guess, it really hasn’t been that long, but in internet time…well, it’s been almost a year. Yep, that’s an accurate conversion rate.

Anyway, I’ve got some things to share, obviously.
FIRST!

Taylor Lautner in Stretch Armstrong
I don’t dislike Taylor Lautner, I’ve barely seen him act. Yet, I’m entirely skeptical of his chances of success with Stretch Armstrong. He hasn’t had a lead role, as far as I know and he’d be carrying a franchise, that, well I don’t know how many people care about. Also, the script is by Steve Oedekerk. Definitely lowered my hopes. (If I remember correctly, he’s the man behind Kung Pow, not the best movie). Anyway, this is something I thought was interesting, but I probably won’t keep my eye on it.
SECOND!
Tim Gough I found Tim through Drawn! and I’m digging his illustration work. From what I can tell, he’s not really focused on the “technical” side of things. Not to say that there is a certain way for each artist to approach things, but Tim is the kind of guy that I’d look for if I ever needed help with colors or space, not figure drawing or what have you. Again, not a bad thing. In fact, it’s what makes his work so very cool.

Astro So these headsets aren’t new by any means (with the exception of their MGS4 pair), but I’m really wanting to spend an ungodly amount of money. The more I play video games online, the more I realize that being technically superior can give you an edge. At least, having a good headset and being able to hear what’s going on around you is definitely cool. Also, I’ve grown to be a big fan of video game commentaries on youtube. So, if I were to purchase a pair, I’d probably buy a capture card or get some sort of set up so I could record and give commentary.

I’ll be posting some photos and a new “piece” soon, probably today.

Man, do I have some stuff to share or what.
——
First off, Kitsune Noir posted this link Bruce Mau Design a couple of weeks ago and I’m really, really digging it. It’s a list of design “rules” if you will. It’s pretty, pretty interesting.

This looks like the perfect thing for my macbook.

Pretty much the bee’s knees. It’s a case for your macbook, obviously.

Spike Jonze’s short, I’m Here, just premiered at Sundance. It sounds pretty interesting, it’s a contemporary robot love story. /Film seems to be loving it, so I’ll have to keep an eye on it. Then again, I wasn’t too fond of the Kanye West short that Spike did.

Fourth!!

Conan is officially leaving The Tonight Show. Of course, there are some stipulations to his departure (such as being forbidden from another network until the Fall), but his show is getting a 45 million severance package.
The Deets

I’m working on another project to share with you guys, it’s a pen and marker drawing. It’s based off of one of my old sketchbook drawings, I think you’ll dig it.

And expect some more paintings since I’m going on an art supply run tomorrow.

So, I have a lot to share. I mean, a lot. Not a little bit, but a whole lot. First off, I bought some art and photography magazines a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been looking through them (obviously). Well, I came across the work of Alex Masket in Esopus. I absolutely love his stuff. You really, really have to go to his website. Alex Masket The concept of letters and numbers standing alone as design elements…it makes me so happy. It’s abstract, yet so concrete. There’s a lot to write about the artist, but I’m not going to pigeonhole him, so check out the site.

Marc Webb (Director of 500 Days of Summer) is officially going to helm the new Spider-Man movies.
This is pretty big news and it’s happened pretty fast since Raimi just recently left the project. There are some logistics and a Sony press release here: 500 Days of Mary Jane
——————

The MacGruber movie has posted a red-band trailer and Brae, I think you’ll like the music in it. I’ll post the link below, but if you don’t know what MacGruber is, it’s the movie version of a skit on SNL. It’s pretty funny and the trailer definitely raised my hopes for the movie. You have to put in your age and stuff, but I think it’s worth it. MacGruber!

But, that’s it folks. I promise I’ll post some of my own stuff pretty soon.

(New DVD releases today, but I haven’t seen any and thus, can’t review them)
